About Joshua Watson
With over ten years of health coaching experience, including corporate, one-on-one, and group coaching roles, I wanted to start my own company to provide personalized health coaching and outdoor wellness programs through mountain biking lessons. I really enjoy the process of helping people achieve their health, fitness, and nutrition goals. My certifications include the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, (PN L1) Precision Nutrition certification. In September of 2020, I also completed my Level One Instructor PMBI (Professional Mountain Biking Instructor) Certification.
Growing up, nutrition wasn't always important to me. I ate a lot of fast food and drank a lot of pop (Dr. Pepper was my go-to.). I can still tell you what I would order at any fast-food chain, from McDonald's, Burger King, Taco Bell, Kentucky Fried Chicken, etc.... you get the picture. Today, my eating habits are quite different, and I understand how important it is to know what fuel to put in your body.
My dad was influential in getting me involved in sports as a youth, such as soccer, baseball, basketball and football, but we were always on the move from sport-to-sport and never really ate home-cooked meals. I played college soccer at Western Michigan University and eventually transitioned to coaching the beautiful game. Through the years, I started to figure out how much nutrition can influence your performance and be a difference-maker in competition.
I live in West Michigan with my wife, Laura. We enjoy outdoor activities, and you'll find us mountain biking, golfing and hiking in our area or on our travel adventures. Thankfully, Laura likes to cook, so we're able to prepare healthy and delicious meals together. Check out some of our favorite recipes.
